I had this vision of a structure built in the mountains, sheer drops, with glass ledges extending out over the edges. As I began building it, I realized it was far to complex and claustrophobic, especially for something I saw in my head as being... airy. An aerie. The Aerie.
After deconstructing about 95% of it, I began building. I was supposed to be done with mapping, and this was demanding my time, my efforts. Part of this is inspiration, but more so frustration I think. Maybe that comes across. All in all, it is actually quite a simple map.
Blue and Red have main halls. These main halls are mirrored left to right, with a center elevated section for the CTF flags, and also for CAH flags. Stairs all all heighted for ease of travel; walk, run, or even slide up/down them. The halls each have the main floor, an elevated tier in front and back, and then a 3rd floor, Overlook. At each end, a drop-side exists to safely go from Overlook to main floor. Additionally, spawns for CTF and CAH exist in the back rear corners for each color; these sections are blocked off for all other gametypes. From the Main Hall on each side, the ground floor offers doorways at the front of each side that provide access to the Underground sections. Using the stairs (or safely dropping from Overlook via the ladder wells) provides access to the tier (2nd floor); from there, you may exit at the far left or right and use the mountain cliff edges to move between each Main Hall, or you can move toward the center of each side, and access the center ledges (extending out over... nothingness). Please note: those glass ledges are safe landings! Which brings me to the final path between the Main Halls, the Center Walkway. The higheest accessible point in the map, this walkway crosses over the center nothingness. From this walkway, one may safely jump/drop to one of the glass ledges. Be aware of a mislanding, as one CAN injure themselves by landing on an edge/corner.
+Lots of camping spots, lots of possible sniping places, and lots of ways to keep others on their toes. I highly suggest growing eyes in the back of your head.
